ATM i heve no machines on which rosegarden could run; so no way to
compare.

Does midish report twice larger tempos ?

midish returns ``beats per minute'' (BPM) as units, while certain
software may use ``quarter-notes per minute'' (QPM).

In your .mid file, the time signature is often 4/8, 5/8, and 6/8.
In such cases, the beat is an eighteen note and there are two beats
per quarter note. So the tempo expressed in BPM is twice the same
tempo expressed in QPM.

just trying to guess..
