Hey,

AFAICS, the easier is to record separate tracks one by one; if
that's not possible a single track containing everything can be
split later in multiple tracks, by channel, note number, etc...
Example to copy notes 60..61 on channel "piano" from the current
track to another one:

g 0
sel 16
ev {note piano 60..71}
tcopy
ct piano_2
tpaste
