Hey!

You are right. There were few places in the code that forced 0, 6, 32,
38, 98, 99, 100, 101 to be interpreted. Now this should be fixed in
master git branch: controllers are interpreted according to device
settings (set with doev and doxctl).

Could you confirm this works for you?
